Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you buy from or use SixthLayer.
Last updated: 24 July 2026
Who we are
SixthLayer is a UK 3D-printing business operated by a sole trader trading as SixthLayer. By placing an order or using this site you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.
Orders & payment
All products are made to order in the UK. Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). We are not currently VAT-registered, so prices are final and no VAT is added. [Update this if you register for VAT.]
For shop products, your order is confirmed once payment is received through Stripe. Custom orders are quoted individually by invoice, and we do not begin work until that invoice is paid.
Cancellations & refunds
Shop products: you can cancel for a full refund at any time before your order is dispatched. Once an order has shipped it can no longer be cancelled.
Custom orders: because these are made specifically for you, you can cancel for a full refund only before we begin printing. Once printing of a custom item has started, it cannot be cancelled or refunded, except where the item is faulty.
To cancel, use the link in your order confirmation email or contact us at info@sixthlayer.co.uk.
Faulty or misdescribed items
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us and we’ll repair, replace or refund it as appropriate.
Shipping
We ship within the UK only, using tracked Royal Mail delivery. Free standard shipping applies to orders over £40; otherwise postage is calculated at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.
Designs & licensing
Some of our products are 3D printed under a commercial licence from the original designer. In particular, selected models are produced under a valid commercial print licence granted by ZOU3D; all intellectual property in those designs remains with ZOU3D. Other designs are our own original work.
You are buying a finished physical print only — no digital model files, design files or reproduction rights are transferred with a purchase, and items may not be resold for reproduction. If you believe a listing infringes your rights, please contact us and we’ll review it promptly.
Custom orders & your files
When you upload a model file for a custom order, you confirm that you own it or have the right to have it printed, and that printing it does not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property. You grant us the limited right to use your file solely to produce your order. We may decline any request we believe infringes third-party rights or is unlawful.
You agree to reimburse us for any loss we suffer because a file you supplied infringed someone else’s rights.
Our liability
We take care to describe and make our products accurately, but to the extent permitted by law our liability is limited to the value of your order. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and any disputes are subject to the courts of Northern Ireland. This does not affect your statutory rights.
